How you can help

House by the Side of the Road was 50 years old in 2020! We kept our doors open during COVID, by appointment, and served over 3000 adults and children in our 50th year.

All items at the House, including clothing, linens, and household items are FREE, with no referral needed. We have no paid staff. All donations benefit our clients. Many people think of us as they clean out closets, downsize, or retire. We welcome items in good condition. But we have needs that are also best met with monetary donations.

Help us to keep our doors open for another 50 years! Consider helping to support the House by one or more of these:

  • Become a sustaining donor by donating $5 or  more per month
  • Honor someone (birthday, anniversary, return of good health, graduation, wedding...) by donating any amount you choose!
  • Sponsor the cost of our home at 2051 S State Street for a month by donating $6000

Please complete and submit the donation form to the right. Periodically we thank Church, Corporate, and Institutional donors on our website and Facebook page. Individuals who wish public recognition for their donations should indicate their wish to be on our annual individual donor list in the "comments" section, or in a note included with their check.
